A thriving children's library in Jayanagar requires one candidate for a part-time job as a library assistant. The library is located in Jayanagar 5th Block, Bangalore. Skills: - Should be an avid reader with a love for books. - Good communication. Must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills as a large part of your job will involve interacting with the local community including parents, students, and young children. - Fluent knowledge of English is required and a knowledge of other local languages, including Kannada and Hindi, is desirable. - Computer skills in Excel, Word, Canva with an acceptable typing speed is required. - Must live within 2-3 km of the library. What you will do: - Interact with parents and children who visit the library. - Collect and catalog library resources including books and publications, arrange books on the relevant shelves, etc. - Help people locate books of their choice, and genres according to type, author, and age group. - Educate patrons on how to properly search for books both at the library and online on the website. - Conduct checkout/check-in of books ordered by subscribers Job Type: Part-time Part-time hours: 20 hours per week Salary: Up to ₹16,000 per month (Salary during probation: Rs.16,000) Schedule (flexible) : Monday - Friday: 1 - 5 PM. Standby availability on Friday/Saturday/Sunday is desirable. Day/Evening Shift position.
